Isaiah 29:26 And again it shall come to pass, that the Lord shall say unto him that shall read the words that shall be delivered him, Forasmuch as this people draw near unto me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their hearts far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precepts of men, therefore I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people; yea, a marvelous work and a wonder; for the wisdom of their wise and learned shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent shall be hid.

 Who are we?

We believe in God the Eternal Father, and in his Son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. We believe that through the atonement of Christ all mankind may be saved by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel.

In the mid 1980s, theological divisions within the Reorganized Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints came to a head with the introduction of a purported revelation by the then President/Prophet of the church that did away with closely held beliefs and practices of the Church’s previous 154 year history. In short, this division caused a split between the theologically liberal Latter Day Saints and the theologically conservative Latter Day Saints.

Congregations and families split up over these differences. Many congregations were closed and many of these conservative RLDS members found themselves without a church home.

In this region, the first organized branch that became a haven for these conservative RLDS members was the Algonac, Michigan branch. Its Sunday and Wednesday services swelled exponentially as Saints flocked to its location to worship, pray, and fellowship with one another as they shared in the old, old, story of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Since that time, there have been 14 branches of RLDS members organized throughout Michigan, Ontario, and Ohio composed of members of the RLDS church that hold dear to the testimony of Jesus Christ in these latter days. We have united ourselves in our efforts to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, providing for ministry to men, women, and youth alike. We have come to identify ourselves as the Great Lakes Regional Restoration Branches and we truly invite you to share with us as we proclaim the teachings of Jesus Christ and endeavor to build up His Kingdom here on earth.
